Holiday Greetings
Family and Friends,
This has been a
busy and exciting year for us. It
started with a trip to Houston Texas to visit Jeri’s Uncle Vernon and Aunt
Margaret, their daughters, Shirley, Donna and Wanda and their families and to
attend the wedding of Shirley’s son, Scott.
The weather there was clear, but cold for southern Texas. We had a wonderful time seeing family at
this joyful occasion.
In March we started
planning a remodeling project of our house.
We needed new flooring, as the carpet was looking pretty sad. We decided to go with a laminate wood
flooring in a cherry color. We choose
the laminate; because it looked like we could install it ourselves, which would
save a lot in labor expense, but give us a nice look as well. While doing the new flooring, we also
changed the great room walkway pass throughs to have arches, adding some
interest to the room architecture. We
also widened the fireplace area so that a fireplace surround could be added. We then painted each room and added crown
molding and baseboard to the kitchen, dining and great rooms and hallways. As we did most of the labor ourselves with
the exception of the arched pass through and fireplace wall board
installations, we were pretty busy for most of the spring and summer. Jeri and her dad also remodeled our guest
bathroom which actually was the first project, by adding tile to the floor and
granite tile to the vanity. It also got
a new light fixture, faucet, mirror and towel bar. You can see pictures and read more about this project on our
webpage, www.litvinland.com.
In May we had two
additions to our family, two miniature horses.
Jeri heard of an auction at a miniature horse farm. A friend who also has some mini’s, and Jeri
went out to visit the farm before the sale and that was all it took. We were able to get a cute stallion and
mare, Joey and B&B are their names.
In late June, B&B was indicating she would like to be a mother so we
allowed Joey and B&B to mate. We think
she is pregnant. If she is, we will
have a foal in May of 2003. Watch our
webpage for this announcement. Thanks
to Cam’s parents for providing the space for our horses.
In August we took a
four day weekend and went to Canada for the annual Adventist Amateur Radio club
gathering. This trip included a trip to
Manning Provincial Park and an alpine meadow at around 7000 ft elevation. We had a great time there.
In September we
built a small barn with two stalls and a hay storage area so we can visit the
horses out of the weather during the winter.
Also in September
we got to take a short vacation to Central California to attend a wedding of
another of Jeri’s relatives, Don and Suzi Teel’s daughter, Devani. They live in Sonora, which is close to Yosemite
National Park, so we included a two-day visit there. We had wonderful weather and a great time in the park.
As 2002 draws to a
close and we anticipate 2003, we are thankful to God for his love for us and
for being our friend. We ask his
blessing and love for all our family and friends for 2003.
Happy holidays and
new year with our love,
Cam & Jeri
