1999 Litvin Christmas Letter

Dear Family and Friends,

As the end of the millennium approaches we pause to reflect on our lives and the future. We are excited as to what the future holds in store for us. If this last year is any indication, we have much to be excited about and much to look forward to.

The year started with a couple weekends spent with friend, Greg Hamilton, once in Roseburg with he and his wife and then two weeks later in Beaverton. Cam assisted Greg by running his computer display during a Religious Liberty sermon Greg gave at both locations. The last weekend Greg joined Cam & Jeri as they put some of Greg's Equipment to work, projecting the Superbowl on to a big 7 foot screen. It was fun to watch it in screen that size.

In late spring we began finalizing the plans for our major out door project for the summer which was a waterfall for our fishpond and a garden railroad around it. Cam came up with the idea of having the train go through a tunnel behind the waterfall. After planning the design of this all spring, we built the tunnel and placed it in early June. Jeri and her dad then started the enormous task of building the waterfall. It took about 3 weeks of full labor spread out over 6 weeks of actual time to put the waterfall together. The result is amazing. After the waterfall feature was in and functioning, Cam installed the track for the railroad and by the end of August, we were able to have a train chugging around the whole system. It was just about a much fun as this life could be.

The summer was not all great fun though. On July 8th, one of our cats, Riley went out as usual, early in the morning but did not return at that night. As the days turned into weeks and then a month, we began to believe we probably had lost our wonderful little friend. We both continued to pray about it though and asked God to guide him home. Then the miracle happened. Six weeks and 4 days after disappearing, Riley just showed up one night. As usual Cam went out on the front porch to call the cats in, expecting just Maggie to come in. But when he called, Maggie Maggie, Riley Riley, he saw a flash of fur by his feet, at first thinking it was Maggie, but then a double take as it was Riley. We were dumbfounded to say the least but praise God for answering our prayer and guiding Riley back to us. Riley is a very special kitty. He is one of the most affectionate cats we have ever seen. We are thankful and humbled that he came home and our prayer was answered.
