Next we filled in the area behind the pond with rock to form a base for the waterfall and tunnel assembly.

Next was the beginning of the actual railroad portion of this project, a tunnel for underneath the waterfall.

Using 2x12 treated lumber, I constructed the tunnel. I used a template to assure that the corners would accommodate the Locomotives and cars for the train. I left the back of the tunnel exposed, using 2x4's as the support to allow access from behind the future waterfall.

With the tunnel finished (and tested with some cars)...

it was placed behind the pond with some help from good friends, Harry, Jerry, Cousin Darrell, Jeri's Dad, Jeri and myself, into possition behind the pond.
