On this page we will keep a journal of things that happen to us through out 2010!
It will also be a place were we will state an opinion now and then.  - Cam & Jeri

November 8 2010:  God has blessed us by guiding us to invest in remodeling our home exterior.  Though this from most external appearances would seem to not be the time to borrow and spend money on our home, we through several divine occurrences, were impressed to go forward and do it.  So we hired a company named "A New Image Exteriors" to do the work.  As we looked at what needed to be done, we felt it necessary to have a new roof and siding.  Jeri with her talent for design and working with the company rep, who happens to be long time friend, Harry Dexter, they worked on the design elements.  Jeri and I worked together on colors and the result is pretty amazing.  I will post photos of before and after soon.  But anyway, I wanted to share a tip about door insulation.  One of the things that was done was repainting of our front and back door.  To have that done, the painters removed the weather molding from the doors.  While doing that, I discovered how that insulation works.  The insulation that was there had been damaged a long time ago and I had purchased sticky back weather stripping which really had never worked correctly.  Well the painters, told me the normal door weather molding is called "Kerf" molding.  The door has a slot that the "kerf" is inserted in.  So, with that knowledge, I went to Home Depot and purchased 5 pieces, two each for each side of the front and back door, and one more piece to trip for the header.  With the only installation probably being some nails the slot that I had trip the kerf to insert around, installation was a breeze.  This style molding is the way to go for a weatherproof molding installation.
October 30 2010:  I have had many requests to have access to the Eulogy for my Father In-Law, M Duane Fletcher.  Click here for a Link to a PDF to that Eulogy.
October 16 2010:  It is with sadness that I report that Jeri's father, Dr. M Duane Fletcher, passed away unexpectedly last Monday October 11 at our home.  He was working on a project, something he seemed to be always doing, when he apparently had a cardiac arrest.  His loving wife, Edith found him, called 911 and performed CPR until the emergency personal arrived and continued.  Jeri arrived home from doing a few errands to find the emergency vehicles in front of our home.  Her brothers all arrived Monday evening and stayed together as a family that night.  The memorial service will be Saturday October 23, 2010 at 2:00pm at the Roseburg Seventh-day Adventist Church.   Poppy was a loving husband, father, father in-law, grandfather and great grandfather.  We miss him till we meeting again on that great resurrection morning that fortunately for us, is not far off.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers, remembrances be made to Adventist World Radio.

Also today, I had the privilege of attending Pastor Terry Zull's last day of preaching at both of our worship services as our Senior Pastor.  Pastor Terry and Sharon have been precious leaders of our church family for the last 14 years.  They have inspired us to be loving and caring to all who enter our sanctuary.  Our prayer is that God will bless Pastor Terry and Sharon as the move into retirement.

Though there has been sadness in our families' life this week and that will continue for awhile, we know that God loves us and that the promises of God are true.  There is a new life coming soon where there will be no more tears, no more sickness, no more death, no more parting.  Praise God that by simply accepting Jesus as our saviour and believe in God will not perish but have eternal life.  Even so Lord Jesus Come!

September 17 2010:  A friend mentioned this to me and I think it is interesting enough that I wanted to pass it along.  If you need to upgrade or get better computer equipment or if you would like to know about how to repair or fix a hard ware or software problem, but you don't have a lot of money, here is a option that may be worth investigating.  It's called Free Geek and here is their Website:  http://www.freegeek.org/.  What they do is in exchange to donated time, they will give you hardware and training.  So check them out!

We have been busy, it's good to have work and even better that it is part time.  Now, Jeri works 12 more hours a week or so than I do, but it's good to have a extra time do get some things done and not be totally exhausted.  OK, Jeri is more exhausted that me because her job is much more demanding than mine is, but we are still just happy and thankful for the blessings we have received.

We have had the joy of going to the coast several times this summer, just for a day trip, but have had several just gorgeous days.  We also have found a beach that is not highly visited, is beautiful and has a great quantity of agates that are very easy to find.  Jeri loves to beach comb for those treasures.

We also had a nice long weekend down in Roseburg for Labor Day.  All of Jeri's brothers were there with most of their families.  Hi-lite was taking Poppy's hand made wood canoes out on the lake.  It was a special time.

August 12 2010:  Hi everyone!  Summer is going by fast!  Weather has been good for the last month though so we have enjoyed it!  Two days ago was the year anniversary of my father's passing.  Hard to believe a year has gone by.  It seems like a it has been a lot longer in some ways, and yesterday on other ways.

My new job has been going well.  I like working at the church, for the parishioners and the pastors.  They are all wonderful people.  I like the hours and having Friday off to get other things done.  God has truly blessed and we praise his name.

In the middle of July, Jeri and I spent five days at Sunriver Or with her brother Larry and his wife Diana.  Had a great time biking the trails and floating the river.  Weather there was perfect which is usually is in July!

We also have made it down to the coast several times.  We found a beach near Oceanside called Short Beach which is really nice for looking for agates.  It also is very scenic and not overcrowded.  We were fortunate in that the times we went there the weather was just phenomenal considering it is the Oregon Coast.

Aside from all the activities, is the real reason for our existence and that is to be friends with God!  We can see by the world events, that the time of the end is fast approaching.  We pray for all of you, that when God speaks to you, you will listen!  God loves you and so do we.

May 23 2010:  We are in Auburn visiting Jeri's brother Kevin and his family.  Always enjoy being here with them.  Will head home this afternoon.  Enjoyed visiting yesterday afternoon with them and watching online sermons.  Watch two of my favorites with Ed Reid on the times we are living in and signs that overwhelmingly pointing to Jesus return very soon.

My job is going well.  It's a perfect situation for me.  Mostly on my own, just managing the church's schedule, email, phone calls and producing the church bulletin every week.  Our senior pastor just announced he will be retiring this fall, so it will be interesting to see how that goes and who the new senior pastor will be.

April 24 2010:  Had a good first week at the new job.  It is great working with our pastoral staff.  All the pastors are wonderful, blessed men of God.  Looking forward to helping them in any way I can.  The work hours are great too, 9am to 2pm, Monday through Thursday!
April 13 2010:  Today we received our Netflix Wii disk.  This allows the Wii to download and view movies or TV shows from Netflix which are available for instant viewing.  We tried it for the first time this afternoon watching Julie & Julia.  It worked better than I imagined it would.  Andy Julie and Julia is a good movie too.
April 12 2010:  Today I was offered a job at our church as the Office Administrator.  It is part time, but that is just fine.  I am excited to have this opportunity and Jeri is happy for me as well.  I start next Monday.
April 1 2010:  The last month has gone by quickly!  Last Friday, Jeri and drove down to Roseburg and Saturday morning, we left there with her folks to drive to Loma Linda.  The intent of the trip was to deliver a stain glass window that her father made to Loma Linda University which we did on Monday.  While here we have visited family and friends and today, Thursday April 1 Jeri and I are in Palm Desert California to celebrate our 15th anniversary.  We will leave here tomorrow and return to Loma Linda for Sabbath, and then starting north on Sunday.

It is also a sad day for us as one year ago last night, was the last time we say our beloved Riley cat.  That night, Riley and Buddy were both outside late.  I called them around 10pm and neither of them came in which was unusual, but had happened before.  I kept calling them every 15 minutes or so but still nothing until about 11:30pm when I looked outside and saw a shadow of a dog figure, which was probably a coyote.  A few minutes after that, I saw some raccoons and also a skunk.  And then a few more minutes and Buddy showed up.  Riley however never came home.  He had done this before, disappeared for a an extended period of time so we held out hope (and really still do) that he just show up.  the longest he had disappeared before was 3 months or so.  However, as I said it has now been a year.  He would now be 14 years old which is getting up there for a cat.  A few weeks after he disappeared, one of my folks cats, Felix disappeared as well and unfortunately I did find a part of him.  So with all that said, we accept that Riley is probably no longer alive and are just thankful for the time we had with him.  He was a great cat and we miss him tremendously.

February 28 2010:  Hi all, sorry it has been so long!  I guess, I spend a little more time on Facebook these days!  Anyway, Our home repair has been finished.  It actually was done about three week ago.  I have been unpacking and sorting.  Still have more to do, but the house is about back to normal.  We have new flooring through out the house, including tile now in our master bathroom.  The same tile is now in both bathrooms.  We also have a new counter top.  It is still laminate, but it has a nice granite look now instead of white.  We also upgraded our range and range hood to a stainless steel look and so the kitchen looks very nice.  The upgrades were out of pocket and added up to about $3000 but I think they will be worth it.

As noted, today is February 28.  It was two years ago today that I left my former employer.  It is hard to believe that time has gone by.  God has blessed us though and we are thankful and praise Him for that.  We know that all will work together for our good, because we love Him.

I just installed Windows 7 on my computer.  I have had the upgrade for about 3 month's, but hesitated doing the installation while we were in the middle of the remodel.  However, I decided to tackle it today.  First I backed up the computer data files which took about 2 hours.  Then I started the upgrade.  That took about 6 hours, but all went fine.  It was all automated and did exactly as the instructions said it would.  If you have more questions about doing the upgrade, you are welcome to ask me.

January 30 2010:  Our home restoration is coming right along.  We now have flooring throughout the house and the baseboards have been reinstalled.  Last Wednesday, some of the baseboards were caulked and painted.  More of that will take place next Tuesday.  Next Friday, we will have the new counter top installed.  So we are getting close.

This weekend we are celebrating Jeri's mother's 80th birthday.  We are together with family and tonight friends will join us for a celebration.  Should be a lot of fun.

January 8 2010:  Welcome to the 2010 Litvinland Journal!  We're one week into the new year, I've lost 4 lbs, Jeri has lost 3.  That is good.  Waiting this morning for the flooring company to deliver some flooring.  They are just bringing it here today, so it can acclimatize to our home.  Installation is hopefully going to begin next Tuesday.

Note also the link at the top of the page to our Litvinland 2009 Journal if you want to review last year.  Thanks for your interest in us and for your thoughts and prayers.  We pray for all of you everyday.  We know time in this world is short and just pray that the Holy Spirit will touch your lives, inspire you to search for the truth about God and that you find that truth.  We love you all!

January 1 2010:  As is normal in this earthly life, it is easier to gain weight than any of us would like.  2 years ago, I had lost a little over 40 lbs.  It felt good.  However over the last year I have put about 20 of those lbs back on and so today, I am committed to lose those lbs.  Fortunately I know how to do it. It just takes doing this diet and determination to stick to it.  It's the same diet I did two years ago.  It costs a little money, but really, if you eat out occasionally, it really isn't much more or even the same as normal food expense.  My plan is to reach my goal, no later than our 15th anniversary in April.  I don't expect that to be a issue.  I probably will be there much sooner than that.
